I have tried to boot one of our servers with ee instead of e, no luck. The problem wsb2/gilgal itself on the specified hardware – no network connectivity after several minutes from server’s startup. It’s using the e driver. I tried to fix esb2/giilgal with a tool similar to what The Sorcerer01 is using, thought I had it resolved tho, because I didn’t get the error message during boot anymore. Oh, just spotted that there is no NAPI enabled in that build of e, but we need this functionality.
Already have an account? I’ll see if F8’s newer kernels support ee, otherwise I’m sure it will be in F9. Others deleted the NVM checksum test from the source code and recompiled.

Intel did a major refactor of the driver, but when they went to push it upstream it wasn’t too well received.
